Often, these days, we are paying for something that has not been so useful to us and unfortunately, hospital bills, which is obviously the very inevitable part of our lives, top the charts. The supposedly basic, essential aspect has today changed into a luxurious deal, which is no less than a four star hotel. It is a shame to see such massive scope for commercialization in hospital industry.

Thanks for your kind words. Well, you know the story behind my absence. With the way things have changed for me lately, it took some thinking to decide what I would do. And with waiting on getting out of the hospital, then two bouts of flu back-to-back, I took longer to get it done than I meant to.

As for your comment, well, that is one of my biggest problems, I have no family here in the US. My Mom moved back to Europe after the fall of communism there and my sister and her family are in Australia fir the last 20 years. i'll get to this in my HIstory... series. Keep reading!

I'm glad to hear things are beginning to look up for you. You are certainly due for a break! I have been reading your site for several months though I have had limited Internet access over the course of the summer due to a temporary job that I was able to land in a rural area. I have read your story and your updates with interest. I've been homeless myself a few times (though not for extended periods) and would have been homeless much more often were it not for family and friends to fall back on in tough times.

Responding to people like that just encourages them, even if your comments are logical, positive, negative, whatevere. He is a telemarketer living in Orange County, Ca. Thanks for the comment and the suggestions. I'm guessing you read this post, but not the rest of the site. The car is more than a car, it's is my home. I live in it. Take away my car, you've taken my home too.

I have no income, if I did, I'd likely have a place to live. I look, all the time, or I did when I still had a working car, but without, I cannot. The other thing you missed is that I cannot walk, and I do not own a wheelchair. The bus system is out for me, can't even get to it. I cannot afford cabs, again, remember, homeless.

As for going to school and learning a skill, I have a masters degree in Journalism, Bachelors in English and in Astronomy (I changed from astronomy to journalism.) I never usesd either of thos skills, however; I am a software engineer with 33 years of experience. I earn 200k+ when working. I've been largely out of work for 7 years now due to health issues which have also depleted all my savings. I don't think that at this point, in my 50s with bad health is the time to take up plumbing! <smile>

Dude, life sucks sometimes. I can't even begin to tell you some of the horror stories of cars I've had over the years. Broken down 1960 VW after head on collision. The Vega that ran out of oil and seized up, in a busy intersection. And more stories involving a 65 Chevy Nova a 1980 Honda. Trust me when I tell you that I never get emotionally wrapped up in a vehicle, as they will come and go. You don't mention city bus service (I know, we all hate them but in a pinch just be glad they are available until that next paycheck or source of income comes along). Have you registered for school? The community colleges have some excellent professional programs, especially for you guys-machinist, carpenter, plumbing, auto mechanics, etc. Great job potential and references for your future. Never give up as the future could be really great. Overlook hurdles and try to deal with them in a free manner first.

I came to Orange County for two reasons, first, in hopes that I could get the medical care here that I needed but which I could not get in San Diego and San Diego County; secondly, to be in a place where Butters could stay with some friends who adore pets and who where willing to take on looking after Butters for as long as necessary.

Butters, I'm happy to report, is getting along fine in her new temporary digs, with her two new human pets and the four kitty cats she shares them with. She will be coming by for a visit some time this week! I can't wait, I miss the scruffy little monkey-faced dog so much!

Ah, and the foot is pointing to the right, and the ankle above IS wider than the heel, that's the deformed ankle caused by improperly treated broken ankle last year. They told me I could walk too soon and it re-broke, but I no longer had insurance so they would not fix it.

That is my left heel. Just read the other posts here to catch up on what has been going on with me here. I've been trying to get treatment for this wound for over a month in San Diego where, under the skilled pass the buck medical system, this grew from the size of the tip[ of my fingernail to this monster.

The leash was there, the collar was not. That says stolen. Had she just slipped out or broken the collar, either way, the collar or it's remnants would have been there. But... Read on on the main blog post...
